Welcome to 2015!
I cannot believe it is already February of the 2014 – 2015 school year! Time really does fly when you enjoy your work. Having joined the district in July, it seems like just yesterday I was moving into the Napa Valley and settling into my position. It has been a joy getting to know the schools, the staff and students, the parents, and the community.
As we approach the second half of the school year, we will continue to focus on ALL Students Succeeding and Professional Excellence. We will do so by ensuring that every child is given appropriate opportunities for learning. In addition, we will analyze and fine tune our curricular programs to be certain our students are gaining the necessary skills to leave us college/career ready. We will continue to infuse Project Based Learning into our programs and ask our students higher ordered questions to stretch their minds and their thinking.
Our teachers care about our students and their success. They are committed to excellence in everything they do. The work of a teacher is never-ending. Although they have been without students the past couple of weeks, they are always planning, thinking, and preparing for their teaching day. Our teachers spend countless hours learning, collaborating and planning each day for academic success.
St. Helena Unified School District is a great place for students to learn, grow, and prepare for their future. I am pleased to join the District and look forward to continued success.
