Where Everybody Belongs!!!!!
Where Everybody Belongs (WEB) is an orientation program for our incoming sixth graders. Eighth grade WEB leaders help welcome our new sixth graders and support them throughout their first year in middle school.
Eighth grade WEB leaders are recruited in the spring of each year. They attend a half day training (Spring Play Day) and get an overall idea of what they will learn at the summer training. Then the WEB leaders spend two days of their summer in a training where they learn to lead activities for our sixth graders. Follow-up activities take place throughout the school year so sixth graders have the opportunity to be with their WEB leaders again.
For all 8th Grade WEB Leaders....
The WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) training dates are Tuesday, August 7th and Wednesday, August 8th from 8:00 - 1:00. Lunch will be provided on both days. The sixth grade orientation is on Friday, August 10th. Reminders will go out during the summer.
For all incoming 6th graders...
We look forward to welcoming all new sixth graders at the August 10th orientation. Invitations will be mailed to all incoming sixth graders during the third week of June with more information. Plan to arrive at RLS at 7:45AM for the 8:00 orientation. We don't want you to miss one minute of this! The orientation ends at 12:00 and all parents are invited back to join us for a BBQ. Students will be able to purchase P.E. clothes and get their schedules following the BBQ.
All new 7th and 8th graders...
We look forward to meeting you and providing you with information about RLS that will help you be successful and enjoy your time with us. There will be a brief orientation for all students who come to us as 7th or 8th graders. This orientation will take place on Thursday, August 9th from 1:00 - 3:00.
