Welcome to the new school year!
If your student needs any assistance here at RLS, I am here to help. As the RLS School Counselor, I am responsible for academic and personal counseling for our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at RLS Middle School.
Students wishing to talk with me should complete a Counselor Request Form at the office. Each student’s concerns will be confidentially discussed so that efforts can be made address them. Students may talk with me for any reason and teachers may excuse students for counseling during class time.
I am also available to meet with parents. Parents can contact me by phone or email. If parents would like to schedule conferences with teachers I can also set those up. Conferences are thirty minutes and take place during the teachers' conference times which are the following:
6th Grade - 1:00 - 1:30
8th Grade - 2:45 - 3:15
The entire grade level team, parent(s), student, administrator, and I all attend each parent conference and work together to assist students. If a parent is unable to attend a conference, we can still hold a meeting with the student, grade level team, an administrator, and myself to discuss concerns and strategies. These meetings are pro-active, solution-focused, and very positive.
